Paris Haute Couture SS 2011 (Day2)

I'm sorry to say this. I love (LOVE) Chanel and Karl, but this collection was just uninspired. It's all things elegant and chic and Chanel, but it's sadly uninspired. When you compare it to the last couple of ones, this one just lacks grandeur. Still, some nice looks:

And, last of the day, a very favorable surprise: Stephan Roland.

Paris Haute Couture SS 2011 (Day1)

Let's get started! First day of Couture in the city of lights! What did we get to see today? The highlight of the day, of course, Dior. Spectacular, as always. Let's start with that. Galliano got his inspiration from fashion illustrator René Gruau, who helped Dior creating his famous new look. I leave you to enjoy!... Don't miss the shoes! To die for!!

Let's take a look at Armani now. One word: electric!

Jantaminiau, a practically new designer, has shown his work in Paris since 2007. I especially loved these couple of looks. They look a bit McQueen-ish to me, but I'll take it. And, take a look at the shoes. They're dangerous. I could totally see Lady Gaga in those!

Khaled El Masri, charming lebanese designer. I have to say I love this dress and, with the Golden Globes so fresh in my mind, I can't help but thinking, Red Carpet alert!

Finally, thanks to Valerio Mezzanoti, of NowFashion.com. Thanks to him we get to see shows LIVE!

Angelina's killer looks in The Tourist

I just saw the Tourist last night. I'm not here to talk about the movie (which I liked), but about her looks throughout the film. WOW! She looks so glamorous. She's beautiful, of course; but in this film, she's flawless, in every single scene, she's just perfect. The epitome of glamour. Just take a look at these!
My personal favorite, this most glamorous look by Colleen Atwood, the film's costumes designer. It's perfectly accesorised with a camel wrap, Ferragamo nude pumps, elbow globes, matching clutch and golden earings.

Then, also second in my list, we have the grey dress. This vintage Charles James from 1950's perfectly captures the essence of the film, in my opinion. And it's so elegant!

Last but, definitely not least, the ball gown. Romance? checked. Action? checked. Comedy? checked. Locations? checked. Fashion? checked, checked, checked. A ball? It would have been the only thing missing from this movie! Here's the best shot I could get:

Go watch it! Just a disclaimer, girls, don't get too depressed after looking at that goddess in HD.

Golden Globes: The good, the bad and the... questionable

I'm watching the Golden Globes red carpet. I couldn't resist to post a bit of fashion police! I'll start by saying that this is not my favorite red carpet. I saw little imagination and less risk taking. With few exceptions, I'd call it boring. Let's start with Natalie Portman wearing Viktor & Rolf. I feel bad saying this about her, I like her so much, but that red rose? I mean, there are ways to do statements and that is not one of them. A risk taker that got it right? Tilda Swinton.

An honorific mention in the risk department goes to Julianne Moore. That Lanvin was gorgeous, but the color? She was on a RED carpet, with her RED hair, in a hot pink dress? I don't think so. January Jones in Versace, a bit racy, but perfectly worn risk. And I don't love red, but I'll take it.

My worst dressed are, without a doubt, Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad. You are not going to a [tacky] wedding darling. And, of course, Michelle Williams in Valentino. Just, seriously?... What was she thinking??

Now, the pretty. Catherine Zetha-Jones in Monique Lhuillier, in one of the most popular colors of the night, which, incidentally, becomes her greatly. And, even though I don't personally like her a lot, Anne Hathaway pulls off that Armani Privé. She was dressed by Rachel Zoe by the way.

And finally, the big winner of the night. There's no denying it. Angenlina Jolie can do no wrong! She looks as effortlessly beautiful as ever in this green Versace (designer winner of the night, in my opinion) and, what better accessory than Brad Pitt? The picture of perfection.

Thanks to TMZ for all the pictures.
