Chanel Paris-Bombay

Yes, it's been over a month, I'm aware of that, and I'm sorry! But my graduation is finally over I can now officially commit to my blog! And, yes, I am aware that the Chanel pre-fall collection has been around for two weeks, but as you may guess, my special predilection for the maison won't let this collection go unnoticed! So here it is! Better late than never...

So this is Bombay as viewed through the double C shaped glass, right? Don't you love the way Karl is always able to Chanel-things-up? I bet he could make a Chanel-Volcano-Apocalypse collection and pull it off splendidly! Oh, wait, he kinda already has. Point proven!

This collection was just a wonderful explosion of eastern decadence and pearls. Best part about Paris-Bombay? He's never been to India!... You gotta love him! Here you have my favorite looks!

Last, my absolute favorite, *someone, please, get it for me for Christmas*...

That's it for today. It's good to be back!... Expect more, soon.

Chanel and its Botticelli's Venus under water fantasy!

I loved Chanel show so much, that I have to make a whole post out of it!... Just look at it! Everything, from the "under the sea" set, to the Little Mermaid Florence Welch singing from a shell, and oh yes, the clothes! Karl finally brought Chanel back to Chanel. They're so pretty!! All the pearls... I loved everything about it! Enjoy:

If you have the time, watch the 15+ minutes video of the complete show. It's worth it!

I leave you with this funniest Chanel nail polish ad. Thanks to Marco, my co-worked, for showing it to me! Hilarious!

Anna Wintour honored in France

Anna Wintour got this past July 7th the highest honor granted by the French. She was named Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur. She joined the ranks of names such as John Galliano, Azzedine Alaia, Agnès b., Celine Dion, among many others.
She recieved the medal directly from Sarkozi, while, predictably, wearing Chanel head to toe.

Love and fashion in Natalia Vodianova's Charity Ball

Natalia Vodianova's White Fairy Tale Love Ball took place at Valentino's property, Chateau de Wideville. The purpose of this charity event was to raise money for Natalia's Naked Heart Foundation. That's all very nice but as the purpose of this blog is fashion, let's get to it!
The code of dress, as stated by the invitation, was rigorous white for all women, but it was ignored by quite a few. First of all by hostess Natalia Vodianova, who, claiming her rightful spotlight, wore Valentino red and changed outfits!

My personal best dressed, however, was Carine Roitfeld in Givenchy Couture. That woman can wear anything!

Anne Hathaway wore Valentino for the occasion. I have to admit she looked quite nice.

Anna dello Russo in Roberto Cavalli Red Carpet Collection. Stunning as usual.

I particularly loved Elena Perminova's dress.

Olivia Palermo in non-white Valentino Couture. I love her feathered purse!

Actress Stella Tennant in another one of my favorite looks. She wore a vintage Chanel dress from the 20s.

Mademoiselle Agnès flirting with the dress code: black pants?

Finally, Daphne Guinness in Alexander McQueen constituted the greatest transgression to the dress code. Her dress had every color BUT white in it. Still, she is Daphne Guinness, when does she ever do things the normal way?

Another royal wedding

So soon after Kate and Will's? Yes. Monaco royals summoned the world's top 3,500 personalities to witness the union of Charlene Wittstock and Prince Albert. That's all very nice, but honestly, I only care about the dresses! (And the shoes, headpieces and purses, of course). I'll start with my best dressed list:
The bride in Armani Privé tops the list, obviously!

Charlotte Casiraghi in Chanel Couture.

And her mother, Caroline of Monaco in Chanel as well.

Pauline Ducruet, also in Chanel.

Apparently, the invitation read "Chanel Required", for Inés de la Fressange is also wearing Chanel head to toe.

Karolina Kurkova in (haven't you guessed?) Chanel.

Karl Lagerfeld, head designer of Chanel, who must have felt himself to be in the middle of one of his shows.

Giorgio Armani, who dressed the other half of the party, attended the event with his niece, in Armani, of course.

Victoria of Sweden and her husband Daniel Westling.

Maxima Zorreguieta, always flawlessly dressed, with her husband, William of Holland.

Matilde of Belgium in Armani.

Designer Isabell Kristensen.

And, afterwards, at the wedding Gala at Opera Garnier, in Paris: Charlotte Casiraghi stunning, this time in Giambattista Valli Fall Winter 2011-2012.

Filbert of Savoy and his wife Clotilde Courau, also in Giambttista Vali.

Mary of Denmark, with Daniel Westling.

Finally, I only make a worst dressed list when someone really makes it worth my while, and I've got to say, Naomi Campbell made this list worthwhile almost all by herself. The least of her crimes (first picture) was to skip protocol and wear long to the ceremony, where knee-length is customary. The dress itself it's hideous, but it's nothing compared to her sin later at the Gala. She not only wore a white dress to a wedding party. She wore that white dress (second picture). I think I'll let it speak for itself...

Finally, to finish with a bang, Michelle Yeoh, Malaysian actress, wore what appears to be her whole wardrobe to the ceremony. Apparently, she never heard the phrase "Less is more" in her life, instead, she went for the good old "Accessorize" and took it a bit too seriously. P.S. Does anything in her outfit match at all?!
