Carine Leaves Vogue!

I was so saddened by the news. I couldn't believe when I first read it in Twitter. I thought it must be a prank. But, it's as real as her nose, she's resigned, effective in a few weeks. I'm so sad to watch her leave! She is so edgy and cool. She has such a young and daring view on fashion... and, most importantly, she's such a nice person! You don't find those as often as you'd like. Anyways, she'll be missed. All that is left now is speculation... who will replace her? My hopes go for Anna dello Russo, of course!!

R.I.P. my beloved dress

I'm mourning the loss of a dress... I left my university dorm for holidays at home but, in the middle of the stress of finals, I forgot a dress. My favorite dress, that I wore to my 21st birthday party. I had a friend look for it in my closet... but it's gone! It probably got stolen. I'm so depressed. I loved that dress! A minute of silence, to remember the beauty and happiness that it brought to my life in the short spam of time we were together...

On a different note... I don't know whether to laugh or cry... look what I found in Bershka last week:

Am I crazy or those look just like:

And finally, I leave you with an invitation to check out the new Lady Dior short film. Marion Cotillard, stunning like always. I must confess I much prefer Chanel's films, but I'm very biased in my opinion. I love Chanel.

Anna dello Russo+H&M+Lanvin = Love

Yes, Anna dello Russo modeling Lanvin for H&M... could it get better? Oh, yes, she has a dog walking the runway with her!...

I, obviously, love the dress... but no H&M in Mexico so... I just have to enjoy it on her...

On a different note, I'd love to share this image with you! That's just Alber Elbaz and Suzy Menkes at the IHT Luxury Conference. Nothing special about it, I just really like them both!

Fabulous has a name

And that would be Anna dello Russo! You have to see this post on her blog to know what I'm talking about. Here's a little preview!

I'm sorry, I just love her!

Zara strikes again!

Remember those gorgeous Louis Vuitton heels from last Fall Winter, 2011? Here's a reminder:

And now, look at these:

See any similarities?... Well, Zara has done it yet again. Copied, almost too accurately, a piece from the runways, and is to sell them for just over $100. That is kind of annoying to tell the truth, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like to buy those (affordable) copies. It's a matter of budget, I guess!

Well, like it on Facebook:

"I want Lanvin, not diamonds"

I just have to make a parenthesis in my review of old fashion weeks to talk about this. H&M has done it again! The "cheap" brand that snatches the best designers for special edition collections has gotten it right, yet again, this time, by forming an alliance with Lanvin. The designer for the collection is, then, none other than Alber Elbaz! Enough talking. See it for yourselves!!

Don't miss Anna Dello Russo's special shoot of the collection at her house. Visit her blog.

More Paris Fashion Week old-school

Oh Paris!... and we continue...
Going straight to the first show that blew my mind. Viktor & Rolf and their crazy tulle dresses. The music and the shock of the dresses, it was just too much! I left that show totally hallucinating! It was a trip. See it for yourselves:

We ran into my golden girl, Anna dello Russo outside the show, wearing her favorite golden Dolce & Gabbana.

That's me and Mademoiselle Agnes after Karl Lagerfeld show, in the backstage.

And this is me and Mr. Lagerfeld! He's the best!

Me and Anna Piaggi at Ann Demeulemeester.

The most amazing show ever! Alexander McQueen's last show.

After Castelbajac, me and Diane Pernet and Katy Perry.

The funnest show of the season: Marithe + Francois Girbaud

Anna dello Russo arriving at Givenchy.

That's all for the day!... Next time, last post on Paris SS 2010. Don't forget to like it on Facebook:

Paris Fashion Week Nostalgia

I'm feeling pretty nostalgic at the moment. I miss Paris so much! Here are some pictures of the fashion weeks I attended... I'm dying to go back!
I thought I'd start chronologically, so, in this post, I'll show you some of my favorite moments of Paris Fashion Week SS 2010.

I'll show, first, the very first time I met Anna dello Russo. I remember I didn't even know who she was, but I saw her wearing this and I thought to myself: "who's that!?". After that day, I always looked for her to see what she was wearing. She always stood up from the crowd. But this is the outfit that made me notice her... and love her!... Her highness, at the end of the Gareth Pugh show:

Wearing Balmain at the entrance of Nina Ricci show:

At Belenciaga, wearing Balenciaga head to toe:

The first time I met Carine Roitfeld, my favorite editor in chief!

And another first, the first time I ever saw Anna Wintour. Granted, only briefly, but I was so starstruck! Here she is, leaving Rochas at full speed:

Me and Grace Coddington at the entrance of the Nina Ricci show:

My first backstage at Vivienne Westwood and a picture of the woman herself:

Dita Von Teese hurrying on her way to Dior.

Karlie Kloss and my friends, after Yamamoto show. She's so nice!!

Some celebrity sightseeing at Gareth Pugh. That's me and Adrien Grenier. He's so cute in person!

And that's me and model Eniko.

And finally, model legend Naomi Campbell walking for Chapurin and rushing off back to London afterwards.

I just realized there are too many pictures and memories for a single post. See you really soon with more: Viktor&Rolf and Alexander's McQueen last show!

The last on Paris SS 2011

This is, I think, the last post of my picks for the season! I focus on Paris because I really believe that, with few exceptions elsewhere, that's where the magic truly happens.

I really enjoyed Azzedine Alaia's RTW spring summer 2011. There was nothing really innovative there, but the show was so pretty! I specially loved the new, modern twist they gave to a 50s puffy skirt.I loved all these new look-ish silouettes!

While I think Yves Saint Laurent was everything we could expect it to be, to me, it was lacking inspiration. It looked like a revival of classics, and some pieces even looked as if they were only following trends set by other houses.
See the whole collection for yourselves here, but check out these comparisons. The rest of the collection is fairly good, in my opinion. These couple looks, however, were too obvious not to point out.

YSL SS 2011 vs. Balenciaga FW 2009

YSL SS 2011 vs. Chanel FW 2010

Finally, I realize this is one season too late, but I just have to post about Givenchy Haute Couture Fall Winter 2010. One of the most bueautiful collections I've seen lately. Definatly the best of the season. It was sheer beauty! See for yourselves!
